My internship

This is my second year interning with Mrs. Becraft in her Kindergarten class. Last year she taught at Walker Creek Elementary, and this year she is at W. A. Porter Elementary. When in the classroom, I help the kids who are struggling and work with them on their letters and letter sounds.
Full Lesson Plans

My first lesson this year was done on February 2, 2017. It consisted of a trifold board with different velcro spots for the students to match a picture card to a word family card. The students then recorded the words of each family on a worksheet. This lesson worked very well for the students who were having trouble recognizing what different words sounded like without seeing the actual word. My mentor teacher ended up putting my lesson into the circulation of reading stations which my students do every morning.

I did my first full lesson on February 24, 2016. My lesson dealt with learning how to spell sight words. I had 20 colorful easter eggs that all had the letters for a specific sight word. The students had to open the easter egg and then scramble it around to figure out which word it spelled. Once they were done with that egg, they would trade with someone around them until they all got to try each sight word.

Mini Lesson Plans

I recently did a mini lesson with my kids in math dealing with adding one more and subtracting one less. I made cards with a large number on top of the page and three smaller numbers including one more and one less answer choices. Then the kids had two clothespins one with one more written on it and the other was one less. I also made smaller cards that could be used for math stations.

This is my mini lesson activity report.

Here are pictures of my students coming up to the board to solve some practive questions. After the examples they used smaller versions of the cards to work at their desk.
